Things have remained quiet on the building front which is mainly due to Jaimin having to start a new venture having left (or been asked to leave) from work in January.
"For the record" we have now submitted our Building Warrant Application and we will see what is approved and what is going to require change. This consisted of a very comprehensive set of drawings, plans and details which comply and demonstrate compliance to the Building Standards. Normally an architect would carry out the work as it is a significant set of drawings (15 in our package), and involves reading a lot of the Scottish Technical Handbook as well. Architects usually charge 4 to 6% of the final build cost...
We have already got our SER or structural engineer's certificate, which is a positive step, and have appointed an electrician as well.
